This blog is about our family, who have dealt with the loss of two sons with Muscular Dystrophy, the adoption of a son diagnosed with Agenesis of Corpus Callosum and the birth our a healthy little girl. It's a crazy life, but we are loving it.

Just me

When I read other blogs, and believe me I read alot of other blogs, I enjoy when the blogger tells a little about themselves. I like getting to know the person as well as the family. I like to feel like I know the blogger. About their family, their likes & dislikes, their favorite foods, how they met their spouse, what they like to do in their spare time and their quirkiness. So, tonight I going to tell you a little about me.

I'm an only child. I was born and raised in Texas. I have never lived outside the great state of Texas. I'm proud to be Texan. I love to wear lipstick. I have like 50 tubes of lipstick in my bathroom but only wear like 5 of them. I crack my knuckles. And my writs, knees, neck, etc. It's my vice... mmkay?! I don't smoke or drink. I am a Christian. My husband is a preacher and is the pastor of our church. I open my mouth when I apply mascara. I don't know why and I'm aware I'm doing it and try to close my mouth, but it's weird. I automatically open my mouth as soon as the brush hits the lashes. I have dark brown hair. I tried to go red for a while, the hub didn't like it so needless to say, I have dark brown hair. I don't recycle. One of my pet peeves are people (and you know who you are) who don't change the toilet paper rolls. I have to erase messages off the machine quickly. I can't stand the blinking 1 or 2 or 3 on the machine. It taunts me with every blink. I have fought a weight battle all my life. Still do. I rarely sit down and watch t.v. Our television stays on Nickelodeon or the Disney channel. We recently (this past Christmas) got a second t.v and put it in our bedroom. I usually turn it on and watch Conan's opening monologue, then I'm out. I loath going to Wal-Mart in our neighboring town. It's always crowded and I always have to park way, way, way out and have you seen pictures of the people of Wal-Mart on the internet? Those pictures are very real and true, people. I've seen them first hand at the Wal-Mart I have to go to. Not pretty. We don't have a Wal-Mart in our town. I loath that, too. That's weird considering I loath Wal-Mart. The chore I dislike the most is sweeping and moping my kitchen floor. It shows. *Sigh* I don't get why the word "Epic" is so popular. I hear it everywhere. On t.v. "It's their most epic adventure." or from people at work, "That was an epic failure." I. Don't. Get. It. I want a new oven badly. I'm still cooking on the original 1979 harvest gold one that came with the house. I tell my husband daily. I'm sure he's tired of my griping. I'm pretty sure I sound like the teacher from the Peanuts cartoon when I talk to him. You know the "wha wha wha" teacher. I like the rain. I would like it even more if it rained here. We're 40+ days without rain here in central Texas. I don't count the 5 raindrops that landed on my car yesterday afternoon.

All that being said, I love my family. I'm very lucky to have wonderful parents. I love my husband. I married him when I was 18 and we will be married 15 years this coming February. I grieve my two boys, Chandler & Max everyday. I'm so thankful for Ethan. He gave life back to me after the loss of my Chandler. Just thinking about my little Emily makes me smile. I love her little freckles that have come out across her cheeks. I would love my husband to make enough money for me to be a stay at home wife & mommy. Until then, I thank my God. You have truly blessed me.

Oh, yeah. One other thing I did for Emily's 5th birthday. I'm quite proud this actually came out OK since I don't know how to sew. I did learn a few pointers for next time, though.

Started with this.

Ended up with this.
See how the Emily slightly and ever so gradually slants down? Oh well. Yeah me!!!!

Stingbug & his 1st EEG!

Stinkbug had his first EEG today.

Getting hooked up.

He did great. It was supposed to be a sleep deprived EEG. Which means that if he went to sleep during the test, that would be great. Do you think he did that? That would be a big fat NO!

We let Stinkbug stay up way late. So late he slept on the couch. I woke him up at 5:30 this morning, we made him go out and ride his bike & skateboard during the day to help wear him out. Then I gave him a bath to help relax him  & kept him awake in the car on the way to the hospital.

People, if that were me, I would be out the moment they turned out all the lights. But that's me. Not  Stinkbug. The nurse told me he didn't even get drowsy during the test but because he was sleep deprived, it should be ok.

Glad the test is over.

Ethan's MRI is Friday. We'll see what that has to show us.

What a week!!!!

What a week I had last week!

Between Ethan seeing his two specialists, a church clean-up day, getting ready for Emily's 5th birthday, having Emily's birthday party, our air conditioner breaking down in the 105 degree Texas heat, having to spend 3 nights at my parents house (because their air conditioner was working) and me backing into a tree, I need a vacation.

Ethan's neurologist ordered a new MRI & an EEG. We'll see how the that goes & what the results are! Keep Ethan in your prayers!

Here are some pics of Ladybug's ladybug birthday!

Happy little girl!

The Ladybug Cake!

The snack table.

Coloring with friends.

Bobbing for ladybugs!

Got lots of great gifts!

5 years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Little did I know she would grow up so fast and become a sweet, silly, funny, goofy, sassy, and most awesome little girl. You are an answer to prayers Miss Emily! We love you! Love, Momma, Daddy & Ethan.

Busy week ahead. I'm taking Ethan to see his neurologist that he hasn't seen since he was 8 months old & he has a couple other appointments as well. Church clean up day is Thursday & Emily's birthday party is on Saturday. I'll let you guys know what the docs say about Stinkbug!!! Until then, here's some pics!

Not much going on here, other than staying busy getting ready for Emily's birthday party... and some goofiness now and then.

Here are the finished invitations I made for ladybug's class.

Daddy & Emily got a little goofy with the googly eyes.

I asked Ethan if he wanted to get in on the googly eye goofiness. He declined. Maybe next time.

Lastly, my husband redid the lady's bathroom at church. We didn't get a before of the ladies room, so we took a before of the mens. The ladies looked very similar before Mark redid it. You'll get the idea.

Before...

And after...

I told my husband to bring some of that handyman work home. We'll see...

OK, Ethan!

Alright. My 8 year old has been after me to record him & put a video on this blog, but every time I turn the recorder on he gets goofy. I told him I'm not posting something of him that's so silly nobody can understand him. I finally think I got a decent video of him at the pool. OK, Ethan without further ado.... here is your video.

Featuring... Stinkbug!

And we can't forget Ladybug...

Busy, busy!

Wow, we have been really busy lately. Ethan had a blast at his cub scout wet pack meeting. Even my ladybug came and got in on the action.

Fillin' up!

Gettin' wet!

Water balloon sling shot.

Look at those blue eyes!!

I made these for breakfast the other morning & my kids loved them!!! I got the recipe here. I told them they were breakfast cupcakes to get them to try them. Ethan, my pickier eater at 5 of them & Emily ate 2.

I just cut up grand canned biscuits in three pieces, put them in a cupcake pan, added whisked eggs with milk & some shredded cheese & bake with the directions for the biscuits & there you have it!! You can add bacon or sausage to the mix too!

Emily's 5th birthday is coming up. I put my foot down and told her no Justin Bieber or Hannah Montana birthday! So we went through a birthday catalog that I received in the mail & after pouring through the catalog several times, she picked.... (drum roll here) a ladybug theme! Imagine that.

I'm already trying to come up with ladybug things. I went to the local thrift store and bought this.

After priming, painting, mod podging, gluing, adding cute scrapbook paper & more mod podging I came up with this... a cute ladybug cupcake stand.

We took stinkbug & ladybug to the pool today & had a great time. Even Daddy came. We had a great time.

Last but not least, here is one last look at my table in my foyer I decorated for the 4th of July. I added a couple of things, including a homemade wreath, a 4th of July printable (available here) and a candle.
I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
